ToC project addresses the challenges faced by migrant children in integrating into host societies, particularly focusing on education and language learning. It aligns with European Commission initiatives and the EU Strategy on the Rights of the Child, emphasizing the rights of all children, regardless of their background.
One of the main objectives of the project is to provide comprehensive training activities to 300 migrant children, 100 parents, 125 teachers/educators, and 50 youth workers. These activities will focus on critical thinking, critical talking methodologies, and empowerment, tailored to the specific needs of each target group, by utilising the rhetoric Speech’ approach. Additionally, an interactive online platform will be developed to serve as both an educational tool and an e-learning platform, offering modules on Child Leadership, Empowerment, Critical thinking, and Rhetoric Speech activities.
The project’s beneficiaries and target groups include migrant children aged 10-18, teachers, parents (including single-parent families), youth workers, and professionals working closely with children, such as psychologists and social workers. The selection of these groups is based on a needs analysis highlighting the unique insights and recommendations of migrant children and the challenges they face in accessing education.
By providing high-quality training and developing an interactive online platform, the project aims to empower migrant children, enhance their access to education, and facilitate their integration into host societies. It acknowledges the importance of language learning in this process and aims to address obstacles faced by migrant children and their families in this regard and promote inclusive and child-friendly societies, in line with EU strategies and initiatives.
The above-mentioned indicators and target values serve as the foundation for evaluating the project’s success in attaining its specific objectives.
